Sardar Tariq, Mazhar Alam take oath as ad hoc SC judges

ISLAMABAD: Justice (retd) Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice (retd) Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel Monday took oath as ad hoc judges of the Supreme Court (SC).
Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa administered the oath of office to both the judges at a ceremony, held here at the SC building. The ceremony was attended by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, senior SC judge, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan besides lawyers and staff of the apex court.
The Ministry of Law and Justice had notified the appointment of the two retired judges as ad hoc judges of the SC for a period of one year. The appointment of the two judges is aimed to lessen the workload of cases pending before the country’s highest court.
