Plantation drive launched at GIK

SWABI: The Al-Baraka Bank on Tuesday launched a monsoon tree plantation campaign at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology with the support of the Worldwide Fund for Nature Pakistan.
Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Rector GIK Institute, Khuram Saeed, provincial coordinator conservation, SM Anwar Kazmi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa head of Al-Baraka Bank and others attended the function.
They planted saplings near the Faculty of Computer Science Engineering to launch the campaign.Prof Khalid said 10,000 saplings would be planted during the drive, adding that the WWF had provided 2,000 saplings while the remaining ones would be arranged from other sources with the help of Al-Baraka Bank.
