‘Hepatitis vaccination of cops to be accelerated’
LAHORE:Project Director of the Hepatitis Control Programme Punjab, Dr Sophia Bilal, visited the Central Police Office.
During her visit, Dr Sophia Bilal met with DIG Establishment-1 Dr Suleiman Sultan Rana. During the meeting, various initiatives under the vision of healthy police force of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz were discussed and it was agreed to speed up the process of hepatitis control vaccination of Punjab police officers and personnel.
Rs2.1m approved for cops’ medical expenses
Following the instructions of IGP Dr Usman Anwar, a meeting of the Welfare Management Committee was held in the Central Police Office. During the meeting, approval was granted for funds more than Rs2.1 million to cover medical expenses for police personnel and their families. IGP issued orders for the release of these funds.
According to the details, retired SP Hafiz Ayaz was granted Rs1 million for his wife’s knee surgery. Trainee SI Uzair Abbas from Lahore received Rs500,000 for cancer treatment. The widow of the late ASI Sabir Hussain from Faisalabad was provided Rs200,000 for open-heart surgery. Constable Jabir Hussain from Jhelum received Rs200,000 for heart disease treatment. Lady Constable Mahmooda Aziz from Rahim Yar Khan was given Rs100,000 for a spine operation, and Constable Asad Hameed from Sialkot received Rs100,000 for heart disease treatment.
Meanwhile, IGP met with police personnel and their families. He listened to their requests and issued immediate relief orders. IGP directed the DIG Welfare to provide relief to Lady Constable Naheed Saleem on her medical assistance request. Dr Usman Anwar instructed AIG Admin to provide relief on the request from the widow of the late ASI Ghulam Shabbir for her son’s recruitment as a junior clerk. IGP forwarded the application of DSP Nasir Mahmood Malik regarding ACR completion and promotion to the Additional IG Punjab for necessary action. Dr Usman Anwar directed DIG welfare to provide relief for the plot transfer request of the widow of martyred Constable Abdul Hamid.
IG Punjab instructed the AIG Admin & Security to provide relief for the recruitment request from the son of the late SI Syed Rasool’s family claim. He also issued relief orders on other applications related to the discipline, admin, and welfare problems and instructed officials to resolve police employees' problems promptly and provide all possible relief to them.
