KARACHI: Gold prices in the local market increased by Rs1,000 per tola per tola on Monday on the back of a surge in gold prices in the global market, said gold dealers.
Gold prices now rest at Rs251,000. The prices in the country surged after falling for two consecutive sessions, said the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).The association said that the price of 10-gram gold also increased by Rs857 to Rs215,192.
The APGJSA said that the international prices of gold increased to $2,402 per ounce (with a premium of $20) after it gained $2 on Monday.Silver prices, however, remained unchanged at Rs2,920 per tola, the association said.
