Parking company’s working reviewed
LAHORE : A briefing session of the Lahore Parking Company (LePark) was held under the chair of Commissioner Zaid Bin Maqsood at his office.
The commissioner reviewed LePark's structure, finances, board and parking sites. He emphasised the need for LePark to take steps to enhance enforcement, curb encroachments and increase revenue. He stated that merely having empty spaces is not enough for parking plazas; the needs and accessibility of the citizens were the top priority.
He mentioned that automation, elimination of encroachments and a digital system could make LePark's revenue and structure more transparent. The CEO of Lahore Parking Company and DC Lahore Ms Rafia Haider briefed on the company's operations and goals. The commissioner was informed that LePark operates 150 sites across six zones, with a total of 244 notified sites. Three of LePark's sites are automated and Lahore also has six rotary parking systems, five of which are currently operational, with the sixth being activated soon.
The briefing highlighted that the CTO and secretary RTA have been included as ex-officio members of the LePark board to ensure the implementation of the best policies. LePark ensures extensive and free parking arrangements at all events in Lahore.
