PPP to discuss govt plan to ban PTI, impose Article 6 on Alvi, Suri
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to hold a meeting to discuss and formulate PPP position on the government’s decision to ban PTI and the issue of Article 6 against founder PTI Imran Khan, former president Dr Arif Alvi and former deputy speaker National Assembly (NA) Qasim Suri.
According to the sources, the PPP has not decided on the dates of meeting as it would be decided on the schedule of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is currently on a private visit to the United States (US).
Sources said the PPP looking towards Bilawal to finalize the date of meeting as either to convene on his return from the US or he chairs the meeting through video link.
Sources said the PPP delegation will brief and will take the PPP meeting into confidence about its interaction and discussion with the government negotiating team on the government’s decision to ban PTI and the issue of Article 6 against Imran Khan, former president Dr Arif Alvi and former NA deputy speaker Qasim Suri. It should be noted that the PPP delegation had requested time for consultation with the government delegation on Friday.
