MULTAN: The Multan High Court Bar Association (MHCBA) has rejected the 500-fold increase in court fees and court tickets through the Finance Act, calling the decision unconstitutional, un-Islamic, and unfair.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, MHCBA president Malik Sajjad Haider Maitla said that this act is completely unconstitutional, obstructs justice, and oppresses the poor.
This act, passed by the Punjab government, goes against the Quran, Sunnah, and the Constitution. The increase should be from 100-fold to 500-fold. People are being oppressed and prevented from seeking justice. If the issue is not resolved by 2024, it will be challenged in the High Court.
