Peoples Bus Service to cover more routes from next week
The Sindh Transport & Mass Transit Department has announced the launch of three new routes for the Peoples Bus Service (PBS) and the extension of a route to improve public transport in Karachi. These routes will be operational from next week.
According to the transport department, starting July 22, the PBS would cover Route 13 from Hawkes Bay to Tower. A new electric bus route, EV4, from Bahria Town to Numaish will start on July 24. Route 8 from Yousuf Goth to Tower will start on July 25.
The transport department also announced the extension of Route 12, which will start on July 23. It will begin from Memon Goth instead of Khokhrapar, ending at Tower. Senior Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon said that the new routes are part of the government’s efforts to enhance public transport in Karachi, and provide affordable, convenient and comfortable travel facilities to the residents.
Memon further said that more buses would be introduced for the convenience of the residents, and new routes would also be launched. It is the government’s commitment to serve people without discrimination, he added.
