Late journalist paid tribute for services
MANSEHRA: Journalists on Tuesday paid rich tribute to a former patron-in-chief of the Press Club Babu Fazlur Rehman Awan for his services.
Awan succumbed to his injuries caused earlier last week after he fell from the stairs of his home in the Channia area here at Ayub Medical Complex Hospital Abbottabad.
People from different walks of life attended his funeral prayers offered here and later on in his native Matial village in Abbottabad.
Awan, who was the father of a local journalist Mukhtar Ali Awan, remained attached to different national and local dailies during his journalistic career which stretched over almost three decades.
The journalists from print and electronic media, including Nisar Khan Swati, Tahir Shahzad Tanoli, Kausar Saleem Bangash, Shahzad Jehangiri, Mohammad Faheem, Aqil Ahmad, Noman Ali Shah and Ghafar Mehmond paid rich tribute to Awan.
They said during his career, Awan highlighted core issues faced by locals and he would remain in their hearts always for his kind personality.
