Wasa launches rain-monitoring dashboard

LAHORE:Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) IT team has launched a rain-monitoring dashboard here on Tuesday. Wasa MD Ghafran Ahmed, in this regard, chaired an important meeting in which Wasa IT team, including Director P&E Mudassar Javed participated.

Giving briefing about the dashboard, Director P&E informed that Wasa Lahore's IT team has developed the in-house rain-monitoring dashboard through which live monitoring of rain events will be done round the clock with less resources through CCTV cameras installed at various hotspots.

Mudassar revealed that rainfall records, ponding situations, public complaints, drainage arrangements, water level at pumping stations and situation of disposal stations, real-time overview of drainage operations and drain level status can also be monitored through this dashboard.

Wasa MD directed that all relevant Wasa staff should be given full training to use the dashboard. He said more reforms should be brought in Wasa Lahore so that all systems can be monitored through one click. The drainage process should be continuously monitored during and after rains and immediate corrective measures should be taken in case of any deficiencies, he added. Regarding Muharram preparations, Wasa MD visited Pando Street and reviewed the Wasa arrangements in the area.

Director Ganj Bakhsh Town Hamid Lal gave a briefing to Wasa MD who directed that no obstruction should be allowed in the supply of water on Ashura day. Wasa MD further directed that water tankers should be provided along all Muharram procession routes and if there was a problem of sewage anywhere on the route of the procession, it should be removed immediately.
