Govt will have to go if rigging proved: Khursheed

ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Friday said if the Judicial Commission found rigging in the general elections, the government would have to go as it would have to dissolve the assemblies to pave the way for fresh elections. He said that the nation had great expectations from the Judicial Commission.
He said that the Pakistan People’s Party-led (PPP) opposition would not support the motion to disqualify the legislators of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for remaining absent from the lower house of parliament for more than 40 days.“We have welcomed the return of the PTI legislators to parliament, so how we can we support their exit?” he said while talking to newsmen here at the Parliament House.

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, a few days back, indicated in a press talk that the motion moved by the MQM with the signatures of its 18 legislators would be presented in the upcoming session of the National Assembly and the House would decide the fate of the PTI legislators whether to accept it or reject the motion with simple majority.
To a question, the opposition leader said, “We would oppose the motion for the disqualification of the PTI legislators from the National Assembly as we have paved the way for the return of the PTI to the assemblies.
