Metropolitan Cup 2024 draws to be announced today

KARACHI: The draws of Metropolitan Cup 2024 will be announced on Monday (today) at KMC sports complex.

The first match of the football tournament will be played on July 21, The News has learnt. The sports and culture department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is organising Metropolitan Cup 2024, in which 16 football teams will participate.

Sources in the sports department of KMC said that the teams have been divided in four groups. Fifteen teams will represent towns in the city. The 16th team will represent KMC. The town administration selected their football teams.

Sources said that preparation of the Metropolitan Cup 2024 is in final stage and different football grounds in the city have been selected for the event. The final of the Metropolitan Cup 2024 will be held on August 13.

The prize money of the football tournament is Rs500,000 for the winners and Rs250,000 for the runners up. Sources further said that some town administrations failed to establish and select their football teams, thus, they are not participating in this tournament.
