Hyderabad struggle against Quetta in U16 tourney
KARACHI: Hyderabad were struggling against Quetta on the first day of their two-day match of the Pepsi-PCB Stars Under-16 tournament here at the SBP Sports Complex ground on Monday.
After dismissing Quetta for 203 in their first innings, Hyderabad were reeling at 58-4 with opener Abdul Rafay making 25 from 35 balls, hitting three fours.
Raaz Mohammad belted 18 off 35 balls with one four. Leg-spinner Latifullah captured 2-15 from six overs.
After electing to bat first, Quetta’s top order made a solid effort to enable their team pile up a reasonably good total in the end.
The hallmark of Quetta’s batting was a fine fifty from Najeeb-ur-Rehman who hit five fours in his 57 which came off 110 deliveries.
The number three batsman Abdul Wahid scored 37 off 77 balls, striking seven fours. Opener Mohammad Ibrahim (24) struck three fours.
Pacer Mohammad Hasnain bowled remarkably well, taking 3-6 in ten overs. Mohammad Aizaz, Mohammad Zeeshan and Raza Hasan got two wickets each.
