Chairpersons of seven NA panels elected

Elections of the Chairmen of Standing Committees of the National Assembly on Finance Revenue, Communication, Maritime Affairs were held

ISLAMABAD: The elections of Chairmen of the Standing Committees of the National Assembly on Wednesday elected chairmen of seven standing committees of the National Assembly.

The elections of the Chairmen of Standing Committees of the National Assembly on Finance Revenue, Communication, Maritime Affairs, Foreign Affairs, National Health Services and Coordination, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs were held.

PPP’s Hina Rabbani Khar was elected as Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Foreign Affairs. Similarly, the party’s Syed Naveed Qamar was elected as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Finance Revenue.

The party’s Ijaz Hussain Jhakrani was elected as the Chairman of the Standing Committees on Communication. The PPP’s Abdul Qadir Patel was elected as a Chairman of the Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs and his name was proposed by Khuram Manwar Munj and seconded by Agha Rafiullah and Aun Chaudhry. Also, Dr Mahesh Kumar Malani of the PPP was elected as Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Health Services and Coordination.

Khalid Magsi of the BAP was elected as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Water Resources and his name was proposed by Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan.

Rana Iradat Sharif of the PML-N was elected as a Chairman of the Standing Committee of Parliamentary Affairs and his name was proposed by Raja Qamarul Islam and seconded by Ali Muhammad Khan and Ali Musa Gilani.
