LDA to accelerate work on Bund Road project
DG directed that additional labour and machinery should be deployed immediately to achieve the daily targets of the project
LAHORE:Accelerating the pace of work, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has chalked out an action plan to complete the Controlled Access Corridor Project on Bund Road.
In this regard, a special meeting was held here on Wednesday at the site office of the Controlled Access Corridor Bund Road project under the chairmanship of Lahore Development Authority Director General Tahir Farooq.
In the meeting, DGLDA Tahir Farooq issued special instructions to prepare an action plan for the completion of the remaining works of Package-II of the project. DG LDA said that the project would be completed in any case on the deadline given by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and no laxity would be tolerated in the construction work of service road. He directed that additional labour and machinery should be deployed immediately to achieve the daily targets of the project. Tahir Farooq said that LDA and Nespak teams should share the performance report of each shift.
He added that work on service roads should be continued day and night from Saggian to Babu Sabu Interchange. Along with the construction work of service roads, drain cleaning and transfer of services should also be expedited, he ordered. He directed the project director to continue the work without interruption. The meeting was attended by LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, contractor, project director and Nespak representatives.
Over 20 properties sealed
Continuing its special operation against commercialisation fee defaulters, LDA teams sealed more than 20 properties here on Wednesday. The operation was carried out in Allama Iqbal Town under the guidance of Chief Town Planner-I Asad Zaman while Director Town Planning Zone-III Naveed Bhatti took action against the commercialisation fee defaulters.
The teams sealed properties established on Plot No. 2 and 3 in Block B, Plot No. 9, 22, 54 in Block C, Plot No. 9 in Block E, Plot No. 585, 589 in Block G, Plot No. 1051, 1070 in Block A, Plot No. 1397, 4, 5, 1178, 32 in Block P, and Plot No. 256, 15, and 275 in Block Q.
The sealed properties included private clinics, private schools, retail shops, property offices, auto workshops, laundry shops, sanitary and electronics shops, paint and hardware stores, private offices, and other properties.
