‘Smooth progress in Kissan Card registration’
LAHORE: Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo has announced that the registration process for the Kissan Card is proceeding smoothly as per the directives of Chief Minister Punjab. Over the past four days, 75,000 farmers have registered for the Kissan Card.
The registration portal is active 24 hours a day.
Speaking at a review meeting regarding Kissan Card registration at Agriculture House on Sunday, the secretary noted that 750 seed dealers have been registered to supply quality seeds through the Kissan Card, and 800 fertiliser dealers have been registered to provide quality fertilizers. He emphasised that the registration process for 10,000 fertiliser and seed dealers should be completed by June 30. During the meeting, he said that 500,000 farmers will benefit from this scheme with the cooperation of the Agriculture Department and the Bank of Punjab. Each farmer will be eligible for an interest-free agricultural loan of up to Rs150,000 under this scheme.
