Creating an ideal blend of academic and non-academic learning activities for students, and providing them a conducive, open and dynamic learning environment has been the Roots IVY unique approach to education for the last 28 years now.

This was stated by CEO of Roots Ivy International Schools, Executive Director Roots School System/Roots College International Khadija Mushtaq while giving an exclusive interview to ‘The News’ here on Thursday in connection with The News Education Expo that would be held later this month.

“The main reason of our phenomenal growth in such less time is the team working behind Roots School System/Roots IVY. We all share the same spirit, same passion and same vision for our students. We give individual attention to our students and we fully understand that no student has the same learning capacity. We cater to the needs of the students and empower them with the strength and vision that he needs for his future. We strongly appreciate the connection between the teachers and the students and then eventually he has with the world. It is not necessary that every student is an A Star student but we give them hope that success is possible for him,” she said.

Khadija said that we are used to face the challenges as they keep evolving in the country, but we should know how to handle them. Once an IG of Police visited our schools to see the security situations and he was surprized to see the full strength of our schools and colleges. We have strong faith in Allah and not a single student ever stayed back because of security threat. Our students are taught resilience after each set back and they know how to handle them amicably. I like to connect with students very much, that is the reason, I keep visiting each of my campuses frequently. Students of today are very expressive and I know their weaknesses and strength when I interact with them personally. My biggest achievement is the trust of the students and their parents that they have in me,” She said.

Talking about the International collaborations Khadija said that we are fortunate in this regard that  Roots IVY Education Network is the largest and leading provider of international qualifications in Pakistan. “In the last 28 years, Roots IVY has pioneered many international qualifications including IGCSE and University of London External Programs. Yet another milestone achievement for this institution, Roots IVY brought the first UK University, BPP University, to Pakistan as their only representative in the country, offering undergraduate and Master degrees in Law and Business. A strong advocate of practical education and hands-on learning, Roots IVY is the only institution to offer vocational qualifications including BTEC, HND, and their top-up degrees.

We have partnership with Goethe and Confucius Institution and Collaboration with 180 Top Universities of the world prestigious for high school students, have done International internship opportunities for students in NASA, Google, Microsoft, National Geographic etc. and organized Summer Camps in top universities including IVY Leagues, Stanford, MIT, etc. Our International Trainings include IB PYP, IB DP, Online Training Programs, HND Training, UOL Training, USEFP Counselor Training Programs,” she said.

The Executive Director Roots School System said that at Roots, there is a strong tradition amongst the student body to attend summer schools in the leading universities of the world.  This goes a long way in helping their students apply for universities abroad in the preceding year with great confidence in their abilities. Every year, students of Roots IVY attend the following leading summer schools on full scholarships all over the world including USA, UK, Germany, Turkey, Singapore etc.

Khadija Mushtaq emphasised that Roots IVY is a passport to global education, her Career Counselling has enabled maximum University Acceptances end Summer School and Placements of students on scholarship. “Highest number Cambridge and Edexcel World Distinctions achieved each year. This inculcates in students a sense of responsibility to their society, community, country as well as the entire world, grooming them as responsible global citizens. At present, our students are engaged in the following community service programs and activities like Liberating the Girl Child Foundation, WWF, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, SOS Children’s Village Pakistan, MOVE by FESP, Pink Ribbon, Al-Shifa Eye Trust, Ehsaas Pakistan, HOPE and Savior Welfare Organization.
