US diplomat hints at help to Capital Metropolitan Govt
PESHAWAR: US Consul General Shante Moore has desired to work with the Capital Metropolitan Government in the education, health, and skills development sectors.He said this while talking to Mayor Zubair Ali and former governor Ghulam Ali.
Mayor Zubair Ali briefed the consul general about the services being provided by the Capital Metropolitan Government to the people.He said cleanliness drives had been undertaken and provision of clean drinking water, infrastructure development and programmes for youth were going on.
The mayor said the Capital Metropolitan Government had provided solar-generated electricity to the schools, colleges, mosques and religious places of the minorities. He suggested that the US Consulate General should extend cooperation to the Capital Metropolitan Government in various sectors.
The US diplomat said that it was impressive to note that both father and son (Ghulam Ali and Zubair Ali) were serving the people.He said he would be glad to play a role in the development of the sectors mentioned by the mayor.
The US diplomat talked of the establishment of an IT centre for youth and the City’s Metropolitan Government initiatives for women and transgender people.He said a memorandum of understanding would be signed soon and the US Consulate General would play a role in the development of the city and the welfare of the people living there.
