Arrest of journalist condemned
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly members on Tuesday condemned the arrest of a senior journalist and demanded proper action against the cops involved.
The opposition members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly took up the issue that the cops of Gulbahar Police Station arrested former president of the Khyber Union of Journalists Saiful Islam Saifi and put him behind bars when he was on his way to the press club. The journalist was later released when his colleagues approached the senior officials.
The assembly members condemned the police action against the senior journalist and demanded an inquiry and proper action against the station house officer concerned. The journalist community also condemned the incident and demanded action against the cops involved.
