KHAR: The sixteenth death anniversary of martyred journalist Mohammad Ibrahim Khan is being observed today (Wednesday).

Ibrahim Khan worked as correspondent for an Urdu language newspaper and new channel from Bajaur when he was gunned down on May 22, 2008. On the day of the occurrence, he was returning after interviewing a militant commander when he was killed by unidentified armed men.

The attackers had taken away his camera, cellphone, motorcycle and other valuables. The government was yet to bring the perpetrators to justice. It had announced to provide free education and other facilities to his children, but the pledges were not fulfilled.

His daughter was injured when a hand-grenade was hurled at his home a few years after his killing. His son Imran was also kidnapped and his brother Noor Mohammad Banori, who was also a journalist, survived a bid on his life.
