LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to add two more franchises to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the 2026 edition. “The 2025 PSL season will be the last league of six teams and there is a plan to add two more teams to the marquee league in the 2026 edition,” the PCB said in a statement. The PCB and franchises discussed various matters relating to the PSL during a meeting.
In the meeting discussion was also held relating to giving final shape to the 2025 edition window. The PCB also offered long-term support to the franchises relating to hiring the services of top crop.
The Board said that the April-May window of both PSL and IPL will help in the growth of cricket and players. In the meeting discussion was also held on direct hiring of one player each for each franchise.
“In addition to marquee player offer the PCB will also support franchises owners in this regard,” the statement said. The PCB will also deliberate on Peshawar and Quetta as possible venues for the PSL. However this will be subject to favourable environment in these two cities.
