ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has presented details of terrorist attacks on foreigners in Pakistan from year 2020 to 2024
According to details as mentioned in a written reply to a question in the National Assembly, there were eight attacks of terrorists including seven on Chinese and one attack a Japanese national during this period.
According the reply, as many as 24 persons, including two security personnel, were martyred in these attacks.
The report said that in Sindh, three attacks were carried out on Chinese and one attack on a Japanese national during which five persons were killed and seven were injured. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19 people, including two security personnel, were martyred in two terror attacks on Chinese nationals. In Balochistan, there were two attacks on Chinese nationals in which three security personnel were injured.
The Ministry of Interior said that some necessary changes have been made in SOPs with regard to security of foreigners particularly Chinese working on CPEC and other projects.
It said that during first quarter of 2024, 89 terrorists were killed and 328 were apprehended in 2,208 operations on intelligence reports.
