Dasu power project to bring economic revolution: official
MANSEHRA: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hazara range, Tahir Ayub Khan on Friday said that the Dasu hydropower project being built at the Indus River would bring major socio-economic revolution in the Kohistan region.
“This mega energy project, which is being built in your district with the financial assistance of international lending agencies, wouldn’t only meet the electricity shortfall in the country but also bring major socioeconomic changes in your lives,” he told a gathering here. The local elders, politicians and clerics from Kohistan region attended the meeting.The DIG said that all segments of society, particularly ulema and politicians supported the district administration and police for the peaceful execution of this mega energy project on their soil.
“Your role in keeping miscreants away from the Kohistan region is highly appreciable. And we also need your support in providing foolproof security to Chinese executing development projects in the region,” he added.
Earlier, the DIG visited the 4,300-megawatt Dasu hydropower project and reviewed the security arrangements.He also met with Chinese engineers and workers at their residential camp and assured them of foolproof security arrangements.
