CAC Pakistan Summit begins in Lahore

LAHORE: The 2nd CAC Pakistan Summit and Exhibition kicked off at the Lahore Expo Centre on Monday to promote the agriculture sector of Pakistan.

The two-day event was jointly inaugurated by the Provincial Minister for Industries Ch Muhammad Shafiq and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad. Chinese Consul General Yu Boren expressed his hope that the CAC Pakistan Summit and Exhibition would play a significant role in the promotion of the agriculture sector. He said, “We expect great results from this exhibition and hope that this event will prove to be a perfect beginning in the right direction to bring greater fortunes to the agriculture sector of Pakistan.”

Minister Shafiq said the exhibition would highlight the potential of the agriculture sector of Punjab. He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would open up new doors for cooperation in agriculture as it would help in transfer of technology pertaining to agro chemicals, pesticides, seeds and fertilisers.

The LCCI president said that CAC Summit and Exhibition was a unique opportunity for Pakistan’s agriculturists as it would enable them to learn about the Chinese expertise in the agriculture sector. He said that Chinese cooperation in all fields of the economy was matchless.

Vice Chairman CCPIT Sub-Council for Chemical Industry Ma Chunyan said the trade of pesticide had an important role in the total two-way business. She said China was the largest exporter of pesticides. She said Chinese cooperation with Pakistani agriculturists would write new success stories in the coming years.
