PTI imposed on KP after snatching JUIF mandate, says leader

PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam provincial chief Maulana Ataur Rahman on Tuesday said that the standpoint of JUIF and Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) could never be the same as the latter was imposed on the province once again by snatching the mandate of the former.

Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, the JUIF leader said that they would stage a historic gathering in the provincial metropolis on May 9 against the massive rigging in the February 8 polls.

He ridiculed PTI for its announcement to hold gatherings on May 9, saying that how could a party guilty of crime against the state hold demonstrations. He castigated the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that the new government of the PTI got loans amounting to Rs500 billion for their own perks and privileges. An increase of Rs0.2 million was proposed in the house rents of the ministers of the province which was struggling to avert bankruptcy and was unable to pay salaries to its employees, he said.

He said that the party which ruled the province for 10 years and set new records of bad governance and corruption was given government once again here. Afraid of the popularity of JUIF, he said, the group of incompetent people was imposed on the province once more.

He said that PTI insulted the institutions but still they were given a government at the behest of global powers to stop the way of JUIF. He warned the local administration and the provincial government to avoid using various tactics to foil the JUIF gathering on May 9. “If our way was stopped the sea of people will not forgive those at the helm of affairs,” he remarked. He also warned the ‘establishment to stop interfering in the political matters otherwise they would use other options to put an end to the establishment’s interventions.
