Crackdown launched on fake pesticide sellers
LAHORE:Zero tolerance policy is being followed in order to curb manufacturing and sale of fake pesticides, said Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani here Sunday. As per vision of CM Maryam Nawaz, availability of quality agricultural inputs to the farmers is being ensured. People involved in the business of sales of adulterated pesticides are being dealt with strictly. The black sheep who are exploiting the farmers will be held accountable, he observed. In this context, Dr M Awais, Pesticide Inspector raided an unregistered shop established by Hafiz Usman, Sales Officer, Regal Crop Sciences, Iqbal Nagar, Chichawatni and illegally sold pesticides worth of Rs6 lakh were seized under Pesticide Ordinance 21 and a case was also registered against the accused. Secretary Agriculture, Punjab Iftikhar Ali Sahoo has said that the people involved in such scandalous business do not deserve any concession.
