Institute of Kidney Disease wins ISO certification
PESHAWAR: The Institute of Kidney Diseases (IKD) has been awarded the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) by the United Kingdom-based organisation for patient care and safety.
“We are delighted to announce that the Institute of Kidney Diseases in Hayatabad, Peshawar, has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001-2015 certification for successful implementation. This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to quality healthcare services and patient satisfaction,” IKD Director Prof Dr Mazhar Khan said.
The audit team, following a thorough evaluation, commended the efforts and dedication of the IKD management and staff in achieving this milestone.
“It is a testament to our team’s hard work and relentless pursuit of excellence in healthcare delivery,” remarked Prof Mazhar, whose personal contributions to IKD have helped improve patient care and establish a number of new sub-specialties.
IKD suffered due to mismanagement in the past, prompting the Board of Governors to appoint Prof Mazhar as director.
He faced resistance and challenges from certain unwilling staff members when he initiated his reforms agenda.
“This certification underscores our commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and continual improvement in all aspects of our operations. We remain dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our staff,” Prof Mazhar said.
Appreciating his staff members, Prof Mazhar said, “We extend our gratitude to all members of our team for their dedication and professionalism. Their commitment has been instrumental in our success”.
He vowed to serve the community with excellence and compassion as they strived for improvement in healthcare standards.
