LAHORE: Demanding release of former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai on Friday stated as per reality, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was the winner of 2024 general elections.
Talking to the media and addressing the lawyers at an event, the PkMAP chief stated that it was not fair to keep enmity on permanent basis in politics, adding that there could be differences in politics but they must not be converted into enmities.
He stated the supremacy of law was above everything and stated people like him were not traitors but only asking for their rights on the resources of Balochistan. He said the country could be steered out of the prevailing tension through collective wisdom.
He added that telling half-truth was equal to a lie and Islam prohibits it.
He said that Imran Khan’s party won the recent general elections and it was expected from Nawaz Sharif that he would accept this fact. He went on to say that rule and supermacy of law must prevail and people’s mandate should not be hijacked.
The seasoned politician from Balochistan also demanded list of officials involved in the abduction of Baloch people.
Senior PTI leader and former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaisar, on the occasion, demanded judicial commission on May 9 incidents. He said any movement that had no support from Lahore proved unsuccessful.
