Court rejects bail pleas of three accused in Axact case
Hearing adjourned till May 28
KARACHI: Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) Sohail Muhammad Leghari who heard the Axact mega fake degree scandal case on Saturday at a court housed at the central prison put off the hearing till May 28. Earlier, the court rejected the bail pleas of three accused, Muhammad Sabir, Ali Abdul Ghafar and Zeeshan Ahmed. It was prayed on behalf of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to grant some time for provision of due documents as due to the annual budget issue and the time factor it was not possible to supply all the due documents at this phase. The court considering the plea granted time tillMay 28. Key accused Axact CEO Shoaib Shaikh was not produced before the court. A report filed on behalf of the superintendent of the central prison said that due to the ailment Shoaib Shaikh was admitted to the prison hospital and was being provided medical treatment. Advocate Shaukat Hayat represented the key accused Axact CEO Shoaib Shaikh. Zahid Hussian, Advocate contested the case of the FIA.
