Bismah Maroof bids adieu to cricket
KARACHI: The former Pakistan Women’s skipper Bismah Maroof announced retirement from all cricket having represented her country in 276 international matches.
“I have decided to retire from the game I love the most. It has been an incredible journey, filled with challenges, victories, and unforgettable memories,” she said.
The left-handed batter made ODI debut against India in 2006 and T20I debut against Ireland in 2009, and scored 6,262 runs with 33 fifties and 80 wickets as a right-arm leggie.
“I want to express my gratitude to my family, who supported from the very beginning. I also want to thank the PCB for believing me and providing the platform to showcase my talent. “I am deeply grateful to the fans whose unwavering support has been a constant throughout my career,” Bismah said.
Bismah also captained the green shirts in 96 international matches. “Lastly, I would like to thank my fellow players, who have become like family to me.” “We are all indebted to her immense contributions to Pakistan women’s cricket.
