ISLAMABAD: Invoking a 1980 order to administer the capital police, the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has made his approval for the transfer of SSP (operations) and the DIG binding on the Inspector General of Police.

A notification issued on Wednesday said, “In exercise of power vested in him under Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Notification No. F.17(2)/80-Pub dated 31-12-1980 issued in pursuance of article 2 of Islamabad Capital Territory (Administration) order, 1980 (P.O.18 of 1980) and President’s Order No 2 of 1990 and all other powers enabling him in this behalf”, the ICT chief commissioner has “delegated power of transfer” of BS-1 to BS-19 — constable to SSP — except the SSP (Operations).

The notification subjected the transfer of SSP (Operations) and DIG to the chief commissioner’s approval.
