LAHORE:The chas directed his officers to conduct surprise field inspections to ensure a clean environment across the city. He issued these directions here on Monday.
In response to directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, LWMC was diligently executing comprehensive cleanliness arrangements in every union council.
LWMC cleaning teams were actively engaged in clearing over 5,000 containers during the morning shift, targeting both commercial markets and residential areas for zero waste management.
Special cleaning teams were active in key areas like Data Darbar, Lorry Adda, Azadi Chowk, and the Railway Station. Ongoing cleaning operations cover Shahdara, Ravi Town, and other key entry and exit points of Lahore.
Continuous clearance was also being executed in Allama Iqbal Town, Kareem Block, Johar Town, and Thokar Niaz Baig. Additionally, mechanical sweeping was underway at major roads such as Main Boulevard Gulberg, Canal Road, Jail Road, and Mall Road.
On the direction of LWMC CEO, the process of manual sweeping and mechanical sweeping is going on all the roads of the city. He emphasised that maintaining a pristine environment in Lahore remains a top priority for the LWMC. Residents were urged to cooperate by disposing of garbage properly and using designated bins. The LWMC has also encouraged the public to report any cleanliness issues via their helpline at 1139 or through social media.
