The husband of a woman, who had claimed that she gave birth to twin babies but staff of Lahore General Hospital handed over her only one baby, has confessed that their claim was only result of a misunderstanding.
According to a press release issued here Friday, earlier taking notice of media reports about this incident, Principal PGMI and LGH Prof Khalid Mahmood directed MS Dr Niaz Ahmed to conduct an inquiry into the matter. The inquiry committee headed by Professor of Gynaecology Dr Nuzhat Perveen Khawaja probed into the record of the case.
The committee questioned the doctors, nurses and other staff. They also listened to the stance of father of the baby, Muhammad Iqbal who told that he was now convinced that her wife had given birth only to one baby. Muhammad Iqbal took his claim back saying that he did not have any complaint against the hospital staff.
Principal PGMI Prof Khalid Mahmood said it was not right to blame hospital staff without verification of such incident. He said that hospital staff was serving the patients with dedication and devotion.
