AJK PM urges youth to acquire modern skills for prosperous future

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that it was high time that talented, educated and hard-working people especially the youth should come forward and take full advantage of the opportunity to seek the modern skills.

He said this while speaking at the signing in ceremony of an accord between TEVTA and NAVTTC on Thursday. He said that the MoU between TEVTA and NAVTTC would provide a rare opportunity for skill development of the youth in Azad Kashmir. “It will help reducing the growing unemployment in the region”, the PM said. Earlier, the Executive Director NEVTTC Aamir Jan and Chairman TEVTA Chaudhry Farid Ahmed signed the memorandum of understanding.

Amongst others who were present on the occasion included senior minister Col (retd) Waqar Ahmad Noor, Minister TEVTA Sardar Amir Altaf, Chief Secretary Dawood Muhammad Burich, Chairman NEVTTC Ms Gulmina Bilal, Director General Planning NEVTTC Moin Hasan Khokhar and others.

In light of the MoU, 1,500 people will be imparted technical training on latest trade skill to help them become successful business professionals. On completion of training these persons with essential business skill would not only be able to get decent jobs but would also bring valuable foreign exchange from abroad. Pertinently, expenses incurred on training including training fee, accommodation and mess charges would be fully borne by the AJK government. It is worth to mention here that eligible candidates will be trained in the best institutions of the country and 30% quota is also reserved for women. The training process will be completed in five phases. In the first phase, three hundred youth will be given technical training.
