Hafiz Naeem set to take oath as JI chief today

ISLAMABAD: The newly elected emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeemur Rehman is set to assume the office by taking oath at Mansoorah today (Thursday).
Naeemur Rehman, who previously held the position of emir JI Karachi chapter, was elected as the emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan with a majority vote following JI intra-party election which concluded on April 4.
JI spokesperson Qaisar Sharif said on Wednesday that Hafiz Naeem had arrived at the JI headquarters in Lahore to assume his new responsibilities.
The oath taking ceremony will be attended by outgoing emir Sirajul Haq, Amiru Azim, Liaquat Baloch, Dr Farid Paracha, Rashid Nasim and other leaders as well as workers and people from different walk of life.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has also convened the meeting of the JI Majlis-e-Aamla on Thursday. He will preside over the meeting after taking the oath. He will also chair the meeting of Majlis-e-Shura on Friday.
