KARACHI: The Sindh High Court sought a report from the federal interior secretary on a “missing” person case.
Following the case of her missing son, the elderly woman fainted when she came to the court on a wheelchair. She said, “If you can’t bring out the truth, close the courts.” The court also summoned the Sindh home secretary and the DIG investigation.
The court called for a report from the federal interior secretary. The court said that when the enforced disappearance had been determined, it should be told which institution detained the person? The judge addressing the woman said, “Our sympathy is with you, the court is trying hard to recover your son.” The public prosecutor said that Sameer Afridi had been the victim of enforced disappearance, which was determined in JITs and Task Force meetings.
