Ishaq Dar unanimously elected ADB vice chairman

FRANKFURT: The ADB’s Board of Governors on Thursday unanimously elected Pakistan’s Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar as Vice Chairman of the Bank for year 2016-17 on the concluding day of the 49th annual meeting of the ADB held here in Frankfurt.
The ADB’s Board of Governors elect two vice chairs every year and this year they elected Italy and Pakistan for 2016-17. After being elected as the vice chairman for Pakistan, now the country will have a better say in ADB’s business and affairs in its official capacity.
Soon after being elected as vice chairman, Ishaq Dar told The News that it was a great honour for Pakistan for being elected as vice chair and now he would try to do his best for better cooperation of the ADB with Pakistan.
