Wasa chalks out plan for uninterrupted water supply during Eidul Fitr

Rawalpindi:On the occasion of Eidul Fitr, a comprehensive strategy has been prepared to provide uninterrupted water and sewage facilities to the citizens. Field staff will be on duty on Eid. This was said by Wasa Managing Director Muhammad Salim Ashraf after presiding over the meeting held in connection with Eidul Fitr preparations here on Tuesday.

On this occasion, Deputy Managing Director Admin and Finance Amir Ashfaq Qureshi, Director Admin Muhammad Umar Farooq, Director Water Supply Muhammad Tauseef, Director Sewerage Saadoon Basra, Ahmed Hasan, and other officers attended the meeting.

Wasa Managing Director said that an uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water will be ensured and restoration will be made possible within 24 hours in case of tube well damage. Provision has been made for additional motors and pumps in this regard. He further informed that instructions have been issued to the sewerage staff to visit important mosques and Eidgahs on ‘Chand Raat’ and ensure that the sewage lines are clean, no sewers are boiling and no manholes are exposed. Field staff duties have been assigned in this regard, he said.

On this occasion, MD Wasa appreciated the services of the officers and staff, especially the field staff, who took good measures to provide water to the citizens during Ramazan. He said that he hopes to work with the same zeal on the occasion of Eid.

Water supply and sewerage officers were appointed focal persons during the Eid holidays. Who will monitor Wasa Complaint Cell on Eid and will be present on the spot in case of any kind of emergency. At the same time, Sub Engineer Fakhar will be the focal person for water supply.
