Four students die in Toba Tek Singh van-trolley collision

Three of the children died instantly, while the fourth succumbed to his wounds at the DHQ hospital

TOBA TEK SINGH: Four children students from a private school in Pirmahal died and ten others were injured when a private school van collided with a tractor-trolley on Monday near the M-3 interchange located on the Pirmahal-Shorkot Cantonment Road.

According to Rescue 1122 and the police, a goods-carrying van from Dare Arqam School in Pirmahal was transporting children from two villages in the Chuttiana area, Chak 340 GB and 341 GB Nanglan. When the van reached the M-3 interchange, it collided head-on with a tractor-trolley loaded with bricks from the opposite direction. All passengers and the van driver were critically injured.

Three of the children died instantly, while the fourth succumbed to his wounds at the DHQ hospital. Five other injured children, the van driver, and three teachers were shifted to Pirmahal THQ Hospital. The deceased children were Muhammad Mueez, 5, Haseena Parveen, 14, Ahmad Asif, 8, and Muhammad Ahmad, 12, all from Chak 341 GB Nanglan.

The injured children taken to Pirmahal THQ and Toba hospitals included Horain Adil, 6, her two brothers Faizan Adil, 10, and Ayan Adil, 12, Asher Jamil, 5, Husnain Tariq, 14, Ahmad Ramzan, 13, his three sisters Naila Ramzan, 19, and Eiman Fatima, 14, and Manahil Ramzan, 17, Hadia Tariq, 18, and the driver Adnan Aslam. A case has been registered against the trolley driver who fled the scene and raids are underway to arrest him. Thousands of people attended the funeral prayers for the four deceased children in Chak 341 GB Nanglan on Monday afternoon.
