HYDERABAD: SSP Hyderabad Amjad Ahmed Sheikh has formed a joint investigation team (JIT) to solve the case of 15-year-old domestic help Mehmood Mallah’s murder in Qasimabad.
Led by ASP Rana Muhammad Dilawar, the JIT also comprises DSP CIA Muhammad Aslam Langah, DSP Qasimabad Liaquat Jaskani and SHO Qasimabad Inspector Sajjad Jatoi.
Instructions have been issued to the police team to complete the investigation of the case from all aspects with the help of their departmental skills, the medical reports, forensic and modern technology, and the evidence obtained. Their report is to be submitted to SSP Sheikh within seven days.
Police have not been able to make any progress in the case since the night of April 3, when Mallah’s body was found in Qasimabad’s Muslim Society. The boy was apparently shot dead after being abused by his employer’s son and his friend.
According to sources, Hussain Magsi and his friend Muntazir Shah have been threatening the boy’s family. On April 4 the Qasimabad police had filed a case against Hussain Magsi, his brother Hasan Magsi and their friend Muntazir Shah on the complaint of the boy’s mother.
The Qasimabad police said that efforts are under way to arrest the three people nominated in the case. It is believed that the initial post-mortem examination report of the minor will be released to the police before Eidul Fitr.
