Former SSP Islamabad Nekokara dismissed

ISLAMABAD: The government has dismissed former Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Islamabad, Mohammad Ali Nekokara from the Police Service of Pakistan following recommendations of an inquiry report conducted by inspector general of police Balochistan.
Secretary Establishment, Nadeem Hassan Asif, has issued a notification, saying that Muhammad Ali Nekokara (SSP/BS-19), former SSP (Operations), Islamabad Police, has been dismissed from service for the unlawful act of refusing to perform his duty of intercepting protesters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT).
The authorised officer recommended dismissal on the basis of the enquiry conducted by Muhammad Amlish, IGP Balochistan on the allegations of refusing to use force during PTI/PAT dharna in Islamabad.
Authorised officer in the Nekokara case, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry recommended Nekokara’s dismissal after Muhammad Amlish, the IG Balochistan, completed the inquiry within a week.
APP adds: The Interior Ministry, meanwhile, denied contradictory news items aired on the media regarding the dismissal of SSP Nekokara.A spokesman of the Interior Ministry said no instruction was given to any police officer to use force during the sit-in.
The reality is that the said SSP at the height of the sit-in refused to work and without any reason avoided his responsibilities and made a ‘ridiculous excuse’ that he was given orders to use force. The spokesman said in emergency situations, refusing to protect life and property of the public and government buildings is an indictable offence.He said as recommended by the investigation committee removal of the SSP was done on basis of proof that he violated rules and regulations.
