Rs350m allocated for N Waziristan families: PDMA

MIRANSHAH: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has allocated Rs350 million for the families affected by the Operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.

A press release said these funds would be distributed among the families through SMS messaging, as many of the affectees are still unable to return to their homes.PDMA Director-General Qaisar Khan said the funds would be disbursed to over 17,000 families, with each family receiving Rs20,000.

Provincial Director of PDMA’s Complex Emergencies Wing, Sobia Hassam Toru, stated that similar financial aid had been provided to the affected families last week.She elaborated that out of this fund, Rs12,000 would be provided as cash assistance, and Rs8,000 for rations, which constitutes the 115th installment of the regular monthly disbursements.Toru said the objective of these funds was to ensure that the displaced families of North Waziristan can also participate in the joy of Eid and Ramazan like other people.
