Forces take control of Tirah mountain tops

BARA: Two soldiers were killed in a blast caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency, official sources said on Wednesday.
They said the incident took place when security forces launched a ground offensive against the militants in the Nari Baba area in Tirah.The sources said security forces were advancing during a clash with the militants when the explosive device went off in the Nari Baba area, killing the two soldiers.
The slain soldiers were identified as Naib Subedar Khizer Hayat and Sepoy Iftikhar Ahmad.According to the sources, security forces took control of various mountain tops and also the plain areas, including Sandana, Nari Baba, Khyber Sangar and other areas of Tirah Valley in “Operation Khyber-2”. No militant group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
