ISLAMABAD: Federal Law and Justice Minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar will give a policy statement in the National Assembly today (Monday) on the establishment of a commission to probe the allegations made by six judges of Islamabad High Court (IHC) against state institutions.
Independent members of the House who constitute the opposition, have submitted an adjournment motion to the National Assembly Secretariat for discussion on the matter.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq would not entertain the motion since the court matters could not be taken up in the National Assembly and the law and justice minister then had taken the House in confidence on the subject.
The minister will explain the action of the government that has been taken under an act of law and Constitution.
The agenda issued on Sunday evening for Monday’s meeting of the National Assembly has no reference of the adjournment motion.
