MANSEHRA: MNA Shahzada Gustasap Khan on Sunday demanded the government to launch an inquiry into funds’ embezzlement in the NA-15 constituency.

“The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government executed development schemes merely in papers to embezzle funds and anti-corruption watchdogs should hold an inquiry to take to justice all those responsible for it,” he told reporters here.

Gustasap Khan, who defeated the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, in the February 8 elections, said that funds were embezzled in Tanawal, Torghar and the rest of the NA-15 constituency, which is comprised most of the urban parts of Mansehra, and the neighbouring Torghar district.

“Some schemes are being executed only in papers,” he went on to claim. The lawmaker also advised his own party’s government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to pardon all those involved in the political victimisation of its party’s leaders and activists.

“We have to prove that we are a true patriotic political force in Pakistan, which will steer the country out of the current political and economic crises,” he added. The PTI leader said the federal government should announce a cut in the electricity and natural gas traffic.“The people have been suffering the brunt of the abrupt surge in natural gas and power tariff as it has also triggered history’s highest inflation.
