ISLAMABAD: Disciplinary action has been initiated against several officers in the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), with over a dozen facing action, eight of whom already suspended and charge-sheeted.
Action has been initiated against DG Technical, as well as against DG Network, Karachi, and others. A Nadra spokesperson confirmed that disciplinary action has been initiated in the institution in the light of recommendations of a joint investigation team. However, he did not share the names of individuals, citing court proceedings and data privacy as reasons. The JIT has confirmed theft of data of 2.7 million Pakistanis from Nadra’s database.
