EDO, DEO education suspended
LAHORE
On the directions of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the School Education Department Tuesday suspended Lahore EDO Education and District Education Officer (DEO).
EDO Education Muhammad Pervaiz Akhtar and District Education Officer (DEO) Abdul Majeed were suspended on account of inefficiency and were directed to report to the Schools Department.
It is learnt the officers failed to improve public schools of the provincial metropolis vis-à-vis provision of missing facilities. It is pertinent to mention here that on March 25, the CM had paid a surprise visit to a school on the periphery of Lahore, Government High School, Karbath, and had instructed to ensure provision of missing facilities to the school. Sources in the Schools Department said the EDO failed to pay attention to the school despite lapse of over a month’s time which attracted wrath of the province’s top administrator and he was suspended on Tuesday with an immediate effect.
