The people of Karachi have endorsed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with their votes. Sindh PTI President Haleem Adil Sheikh said this in a statement issued on Monday. He claimed that the PTI had secured 20 National Assembly seats and 38 provincial assembly seats from Karachi, but they were snatched away under a pre-planned conspiracy.
He accused the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) of being complicit in the rigging and pushing the country towards becoming a ‘banana republic’. He said the ECP’s conduct had been unacceptable.
Sheikh announced that a PTI rally would take place at the Bagh-e-Jinnah ground in Karachi on April 21 at 4pm, which would be attended by the party's central leadership. He said that formal requests for permission to hold the rally had been made, expressing the hope that the Sindh government would not hinder the event.
Highlighting the current economic challenges of the country, the PTU leader asserted that only Imran Khan was capable of steering the country out of these crises. He stressed the significance of honouring the mandate provided by the people and the value of public opinion, asserting that decisions made in secrecy may not align with the national interest.
