After two separate shoot-outs on Monday, the District East police arrested five suspects, including two with injuries, who were wanted by the police in several street crime cases.
District East police chief SSP Farrukh Raza said that after two separate encounters police arrested five suspects, including two in injured condition. He said the suspects were wanted by the police in street crime cases. Four pistols, ammunition, a rickshaw and a motorbike were seized from them, he added.
The first encounter of the suspects took place with officials of the Sachal police station and the other with officials of the Jamshed Quarter police station. In both cases, when police officials signalled the suspects to stop, they fired at the law enforcers with the intention to kill.
The Sachal police engaged in a shoot-out with the suspects near a house, and arrested two suspects, including one in an injured condition.
The injured was identified as Salman, son of Hafiz Noor, and the other as Rashid, son of Sajjan. Their motorbike, which was reported as stolen at the Kharadar police station, was impounded.
The Jamshed Quarter police came face-to-face with a rickshaw gang on Kashmir Road at the jail cut. Three suspects, including one in an injured condition, were arrested.
The injured was identified as Jamrooz Khan, and the others as Jamil and Gul Mohammad. Illegal weapons, three pistols, ammunition and the rickshaw were seized from them. Police said that all three suspects are habitual offenders, and have not only been arrested several times but also been jailed.
