PESHAWAR: Provincial Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah paid surprise visits to Hayatabad Fountain House and Khyber Institute of Child Health Care on Monday.

Upon arrival at the Fountain House, the hospital administration welcomed the minister and briefed him about the hospital. The minister was informed about the role of the Fountain House in treating psychiatric disorders in the province.

Recommendations were made to enhance human resources to strengthen the hospital. Minister Shah toured various sections of the hospital and interacted with patients and their caregivers.

Later, Syed Qasim Ali Shah visited the Khyber Institute of Child Health Care, where he inspected the hospital and assessed the requirements in various departments.He mentioned that the issue of fund allocation for the institute would be raised with the federal government, and the Health Department had already initiated work in this regard.

The operationalization of this hospital will not only reduce the burden on other hospitals but also add a specialized hospital to the health pool, enabling better treatment for complex childhood diseases, added the minister. Syed Qasim Ali Shah said that establishing women and children hospitals at every divisional level ensures the health and well-being of mothers and children.
